Obesity during pregnancy is linked to a range of complications for both Mom and baby. The B’more Fit for Healthy Babies program is designed to help postpartum women reach a healthy weight in preparation for their next pregnancy. The weekly group sessions include Weight Watcher classes, group exercise sessions, tips on budgeting and food preparation, and much more.
B'more Fit for Healthy Babies is offered free to women who receive government assistance and who have a child or children under age 2. Childcare and transportation are provided to women who join on a first come, first served basis.
B’more Fit for Healthy Babies is funded under a five-year grant from the Office on Women’s Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The Leonard and Helen R. Stulman Charitable Foundation also supports the program.
