Our Initiatives

Literacy

Early literacy is a key first step in getting children ready for school. With guidance, parents and caregivers can build a rich literacy environment for children, even during the first year of life.

With a one-year planning grant from the Barbara Bush Foundation on Family Literacy, BHB will integrate family literacy education into home visiting, WIC, and early childhood programs offered through the Baltimore City Health Department.
