Precious Purple Sunday 2020: Little Black Lives Matter
Sunday, September 20 at 3PM
In these unprecedented times of social unrest and a global pandemic, our nation and city is at a crossroads. As we reflect on this, we also celebrate the good: this year, 33 more babies celebrated their first birthdays than in years past.
Yet, the loss of even one baby is one too many and in our city, a Black Infant is 2x more likely to die than a White infant. This disparity is not due to race, it is driven by racism.
Just as we yell Black Lives Matter to combat racially motivated violence, this Precious Purple Sunday we declare: Little Black Lives Matter
Please join us in committing to support Baltimore's babies and families.
