SAFE SLEEP SAVES LIVES

Sleep-related deaths are a leading cause of infant death in Baltimore City —
and they are overwhelmingly preventable.

Baltimore City has made huge progress in reducing the number of sleep related deaths. We rely on health care providers because you are often families’ most trusted source of information on how to care for their babies.

The resources on this page offer support on the importance of safe sleep, how to talk to families about the “ABCDs” of safe sleep, and the spectrum of related resources available in Baltimore.

The ABCDs of safe sleep:
ABCDs of Safe Sleep: Babies should sleep alone, on their back, in a crib, and no smoking around babies.
